Grottton Street, NYC, 2007
Ever since I began my pursuit of photography, it was my dream to photograph the New York I learned to know. As a child, I remember my parents would bring me into the city to see various well-known landmarks such as museums, theatres and parks. But it was the streets, always the streets -- the alleyways, the subways, the very heart of the city that you see when you really “look” -- that held my attention. The impressions of “this city” I know, especially during the night, have never left me. I find it is at this time that the “emotion” of the city is honestly felt, and, I hope, is captured in my work.
